Update: Update: Nokia 920 Delayed on Telstra

Apparently the previous email regarding the Nokia Lumia 920 being out of stock from Telstra was sent in error, the email relates only to the free speaker and not the phone which will still ship on the (delayed) date of the 29th as previously stated. It is worth mentioning that a follow up email to let others who had preordered has not been sent yet I would guess leaving many to chase Telstra to find out the status of their Lumia 920. I think this has been terrible service on the part of Telstra especially as you can walk in store and get one (allowing for availability) the best part of a week before those of us that committed to the preorder.

I can guarantee I will not be preordering any phones from Telstra in the future and will probably opt to buy them outright and no lock myself into a contract. I feel sorry for Nokia as incompetencies like this still reflect back even though it is unlikely they had any part in the problem.

Update: Nokia 920 Delayed on Telstra

I have just received a second email from Telstra informing me that the item I have preordered is out of stock! WTF, I ordered the Nokia Lumia 920 within minutes of the offer becoming available and long before the page displayed the Out of Stock message it currently has. There is no ETA supplied only that stock should arrive shortly and I will receive an email when it does. After waiting eagerly for this phone since it was announced this is the worst news possible, I lusted after the Nokia Lumia 900 but was stuck in a contract and now have had all the anticipation drained from me. Given the popularity of the Lumia 920 phone and the fact it has sold out at a large number of carriers and Amazon I now have little confidence in the should arrive shortly statement and I could easily see it not arriving before Christmas.

This is terrible service from Telstra, at least the last email had a personal feel to it and a token gesture with the 3 month compensation of Xbox Music. No such attention to detail this time just a generic mail, boo to you.

Nokia 920 Delayed on Telstra

After preordering the Nokia Lumia 920 from Telstra and receiving a dispatch date of the 27th Nov I received a subsequent email yesterday of a delay. Due to availability of the free bonus speaker the phone will not be dispatched until the 30th. Not a huge delay I know but when you’ve been waiting over 2 weeks already it is a little frustrating.
For others in the same boat there is a little compensation in the form of a 3 month Xbox Music voucher. Is it just me or would it have been a lot easier and less frustrating to have posted the items separately?
